About Us


It is essential to establish the basic consumer rights and strict compliances of consumer law /act in Nepal. The consumers have loose their rights due to monopoly, price irregularity, price hiking, black marketing, curtailing, syndicating, mixing and other many more disobedience factors seen in the bazaar. Consumers are not treated as the god of the market and they are being dominated from market namely “BAZAR MAPHIYA”. Though consumers are despoiled and dominated they are not aware themselves even the educated consumers’ too. Here should be wide consciousness and wakefulness in consumers. So in order to bring them awareness and protect them from quality / quantity of goods, assurance of health & education facilities and to maintain their economic wealth “CONSUMER RIGHT INVESTIGATION FORUM” will be performing under mentioned plans and programs called 5 “M”.

Market Surveillance

It has been observed that the market surveillance and monitoring of consumable goods have not been performed effectively and properly. So we would be performing research study regarding the market price with reference to the different economic indicators initially and effective market monitoring in association with government and other stake holders.

A central level monitoring unit will be formed immediately by Consumer Right Investigation Forum involving minimum 3 executives of the organization separating sector wise relating to sectors such as foodstuff, health, education, banking, construction, information, transportation and sub-division of each sector.
Different talk program relating consumers’ issues in the aforesaid sectors will be organized without delay & draw attention of the concerned stakeholders.
A radio/ TV program task force will be created for the case study & after the proper findings the program will be effectively launched.
A research wing will be formed to study the market instability, and rights violated in the aforesaid sectors involving regional experts.
Virtual library & online library will be in the process of establishment in order to give the information to the consumers.
“Consumers Information Centre” will be established.
A toll free number will be in use from the Telecommunication companies for the grievance / complaint handling of the victim consumers.
Advisors regarding the aforesaid sectors would be immediately appointed.
A legal department involving the personnel of Nepal Bar Association and judiciary bodies will be formed immediately.

Media Cell

A separate media cell will be created in coordinating member of Consumer Right Investigation Forum representing different journalists of national daily, weekly, by monthly etc & a monthly meeting will be held regarding the issues and their improvements.

Membership

Membership of the organization will be rapidly increased targeted to 20000 in this FY year 2072-73.
Management of Financial Resources: A financial cell with four executives of organization will be formed instantly. The financial unit will be responsible for the management of overall financial resources. The standard norms & appropriate provisions will be made for those executives/ personnel who will be actively participating in the activities performed by Consumer Right Investigation Forum. The financial records will be kept as per the rule and regulations provided by the state.

Materials Publications

Different publications regarding our activities by publishing newspaper, bulletin, brochure, wall paintings, hording boards, sticker, parchas and other awareness materials would be published.
